Young Pine Community Park Dog Park

Young Pine Community Park is one of the newer parks in southeast Orange County. Located South of Curry Ford and Dean, this park features two kids play areas, a sports field, canoe and kayak launch and a wildlife area.

Ruby enjoyed a game of fetch in the open grass area

The dog park is located on the far south end of they park, beyond the playground. The first time I visited this park I did not even know the area existed since there is no signage. The dog park is a ways from the parking area, so be prepared to walk a bit to get there.

Once you arrive at the dog park you will notice that, like most parks, there are seperate areas for large and small dogs. On our visit there was one dog in the small dog area and no large dogs besides ours.

Practicing our off-leash trail walking

Both areas feature a wooded section, great for exploring. The large dog area had a little trail that ran through it which was fun to explore with my dog. The trail and woods also provided some relief from the heat and a great place to accidentally throw tennis balls into.

We visited this park on a Saturday morning and it was not busy. Since this is a quieter park it is great for first-timers and humans wanting to do some training or one-on-one work with their dog without as many distractions.

Love the grass at this park

Know if you go:

  • There is a water fountain and bowls for dogs in the park, but it was closed during our visit due to COVID-19.
  • There is only one bench for humans, so learn to share or stand.
  • Shade is limited. Consider visiting during the cooler parts of the day.
